Mother an Alcoholic

Too much history to write about in this section but let's just say, my step daughter was raped by her mothers boyfriends brother about 3 years ago. It just came out in the last 9 months. The person is in Jail and the boyfriend has died (kidney failure). He, the pedeophile, had a felony chid rape conviction already on his record and the mother knew about it and still drove her daughter over to his house to spend the night. She claimes the family told her a different story. This is just 1 of many wreckless decisions she has made. We just found out in August that she was entering herself into Detox. She was there for a week, then, in 5 day a week outpaitient therapy for 3 hours per day. We had my step daughter the entire month of August and September except for Saturday overnights. Now that the Mom is miraculously cured, she wants everything to go back the way it was...follow the original parenting plan. What recourse do we have? She has made horrendous decisions in regards to her daughter and now that she is newly sober, we're suddenly supposed to believe her and think these bad decisions are behind her? We're extremely concerned about the well being of my step daughter. I've done research on alcoholism and the fear, anxiety and mis-trust it brings to the child is founded in research. Not only does this 10 year old little girl have to deal with her rape (we have her in counseling) but now she has to deal with all the affects her alcoholic mother had on her, now she has to deal with someone newly sober that can relapse at anytime? The rapist goes on trial in the next month, we're starting to give our depositions now. This little girl is going to have to relive the entire thing and we don't believe her mom is going to be able to cope. What can we do?
