It there a length of time you have to be married to legally split the debt in half? My soon to be ex husband informed me that since we were married under three years that he is not responsible for his half of the debt because it was all created under my name. Is that true?   He was unable to get his own credit card because of bad history (i did not find out about until later) so all of the credit cards were under my name. Now my credit score has been damaged.
