I NEED HELP
QuoteReply

I have recently separated and my wife has downloaded divorce papers off the internet. I've had a set for roughly 2 weeks (we agreed that I would look over them but have had life circumstances come in the way of signing them). She called the other day (06/29/08) and stated that she was going to be serving me with them which gives me 20 days or so to contest or sign. I surely do not agree to her terms because i cannot afford the debt accrued. She is expecting me to pay half of the credit cards that'ere in her name ($7500 on my part), she gets all of the household belongings (electronics, dogs, cookware, furniture, etc), and she wants me to pay 1/2/ of the private school loans which helped us lived (roughly $57,000 plus interest). I am on social security due to my lifelong illness of Crohns Disease. I only make $747 a month while she recently graduated from grad school and is a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D. & B.S.) She is currently working as a research assistant & I beleive she makes around $14 or so. Is there anything I can do. I don't want to stiff her by all means, but at this rate my life seems to be in her hands.

I also worked on & off & attempted schooling during the marriage but I either had to resign from my jobs & school or ended up being let go due to the illness. In September 2007 I was finally awared Social Security. Is there some sort of spousal support for me supporting a  Naturopathic Doctor through her schooling?

I also know that lawyers cost money. I only have $200 to my name until August 1, 2008. I have to find work in the meantime in order to either pay her or something..........what can I do?
